Technology support

Mateq Process has an integral know-how of energy systems, in both ‘gray’ and green energy. It is our mission to apply our know-how in facilitating the energy transition of high-temperature processes. This can be for instance via a conversion to green(er) fuels such as hydrogen or bio-gas, via the improvement of the energy efficiency of the installation, and via the utilization of residual energy streams (i.e. waste heat, residual gases).

The process design

The focus of Mateq Process is on the process design: we have extensive knowledge and know-how of flow, combustion and heat transfer in industrial energy systems. This is for example in the design of burners for industrial boilers, furnaces and gas turbines, and flow, combustion and heat transfer in furnaces, boilers and direct fired heat exchangers, but also in heat recovery steam generators, ducting, mixers etc.

Extensive practical experience

An extensive experience from practice is combined with years of expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics, that is collected over the past 20 years. This is reinforced with our large network of universities, knowledge institutes and specialized companies. Knowledge and know-how is one thing; Mateq Process acknowledges and recognizes as no other that the actual added value lies in conveying that know-how to the recipient. We know our audiences, and are well-equipped to share our know-how at all levels of your organization.

Examples where we can be of service

  • Process design of circular combustion equipment
  • (CFD-) analysis of industrial combustion, heat transfer and flow processes
  • Root-cause assessments in industrial energy systems, including setting up and assessing improvement plans
  • Investigate the consequences of change in fuel or fuel mix on your (combustion) processes – for example the transition towards (co-)firing of hydrogen or bio-oils.
  • Assess scaling effects in energy process equipment – for example scaling up to larger outputs or operating an installation in a different operating range
  • Reverse engineering – understanding meaning, significance and added value of specific design features in your energy process equipment
